La campagne vise à éradiquer les « cadenas d’amour » (love locks) que les amoureux viennent accrocher sur les pans grillagés du Pont des Arts.

 

Pourquoi ?

1.      L’accumulation des cadenas pose un problème de sécurité ;  la structure du pont (parapets) pourrait s’affaisser sous le poids des cadenas dont le nombre ne fait que croître (700.000 cadenas actuellement qui correspondent à 93 tonnes de métaux ou à trois poids lourds stationnés en permanence sur un pont réservé uniquement à des piétons) ;

2.      la rouille que provoquent les cadenas sur la structure métallique du pont ;

3.      les clés des cadenas qui sont jetées dans la Seine et qu’elles viennent donc polluer.
