The British Museum is now presenting a major exhibition called Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Pompeii and Herculaneum were buried by a fatal eruption of Vesuvius in just 24 hours in AD79. Not only did this event bring the lives of the two cities to an abrupt end but it also preserved them until they were rediscovered nearly 17 centuries later and their excavation has given an unprecedented insight into Roman life so far.
The British Museum's exhibition displays various artifacts so as to give the public a focus on the daily, domestic lives or even lifestyles of ordinary people in Roman society.

You are now going to watch a rather lengthy video by the Guardian, which is also some sort of a guided tour led by Paul Roberts, senior curator and head of the Roman collections at the British Museum.
