Tidal surge hitting UK coastal towns

The storms and the tidal surge, which hit parts of Britain, forced thousands of people from their homes and will certainly cost millions of pounds worth of damage, have been considered the most serious ones for 60 years.
Parts of the North Sea even reached higher levels than the devastating floods of 1953.

Before watching
You are going to watch a Sky News report focusing on the devastation brought about by the most serious tidal surge for 60 years.

Ils ont tout perdu; la mer a érodé la falaise sur laquelle leur bungalow était construit et celui-ci a littéralement "dégringolé".
Ils ne sont pas sûrs que leur assurance pourra intervenir. En effet, ils sont assurés contre l'incendie, contre les dégâts occasionnés par les tempêtes mais peut-être pas contre l'érosion côtière...
Ils étaient dans leur bungalow quand celui-ci a commencé à se disloquer au niveau de la cuisine.
Ils y vivaient depuis 7 ans er demi et auraient pu le vendre si les acheteurs potentiels ne s'étaient pas désistés.
Quid des autres propriétés?
3 maisons ont été emportées par les flots; 5 autres sont à deux doigts de s'écrouler. Les autres à proximité sont menacées.
2. Rhyl, north Wales
Problèmes à Rhyl?
200 maisons inondées; des centaines de personnes évacuées toujours dans l'incapacité de regagner leur domicile.
Esprit communautaire profond / solidarité:
Un parc de vacances (avec caravanes) normalement fermé en hiver, vient d'ouvrir pour accueillir les personnes évacuées; les supermarchés locaux offrent de la nourriture aux sinistrés...
3. Boston, Lincolnshire
Situation à Boston?
Crue subite qui a tout ravagé: l'eau est apparue tellement rapidement que les gens n'ont pu réagir mais elle est repartie tout aussi vite, non sans causer des dégâts considérables. A présent, les maisons et les commerces sont complètement détrempés.
La solidarité est là aussi de mise:
Les gens se mobilisent pour tout remettre en état le plus rapidement possible et pour tourner la page au plus vite.
